The MX 8.3 TKL Wireless offers three connection options: wired via USB-C, wireless through a 2.4 GHz dongle, and Bluetooth, with support for up to three devices simultaneously and seamless switching between them. The polling rate reaches up to 4000 Hz in wireless mode and up to 8000 Hz when connected via cable. The keyboard houses a 4600 mAh battery which, according to the manufacturer, delivers around 55 hours of runtime when using the dongle and up to 1200 hours in Bluetooth mode.
Build and Gaming
The keyboard uses hot-swappable Cherry MX2A Red switches, which can be replaced without soldering – a practical feature for experimentation or repair. It also features a gasket-mount design. The keycaps are made from durable double-shot PBT material, and the case is constructed from aluminum.
For gaming use, the keyboard provides 100% anti-ghosting through full N-key rollover, ensuring that all simultaneous key presses are reliably registered. The high polling rate of 4000 Hz (wireless) or 8000 Hz (wired) allows for near-instant input recognition and minimizes latency. The integrated LCD display combined with the rotary knob enables convenient adjustment of RGB lighting, connection selection, and media control. Additionally, it can display battery status and typing speed (APM).

"The Cherry XTRFY MX 8.3 TKL Wireless is a good mechanical keyboard for anyone who wants 4,000Hz wireless and 8,000Hz wired polling. It’s great for gaming and it’s good to type on, but its matte surface shows scratches easily and the companion software doesn’t add much. The keyboard is very expensive for a mechanical, and you can have more performance from cheaper Hall Effect boards."
