Cherry G80-3000

Cherry G80-3000

The Cherry G80-3000 is one of the most successful mechanical keyboards from Cherry. The first version was released in the end of the 1980s. Since then, the keyboard was reworked several times, but in the core it’s still the same. Cherry still produces the keyboard today, the manufacturer promotes the keyboard with the slogan “Accurate and reliable even after years of service!”.

Cheap Mechanical Cherry Keyboard

The Cherry G80-3000 is a mechanical keyboard without any extras or fancy features. There are no macro keys or media controls, there is no illumination and no win lock function. But in exchange for passing on all these features, you get a cheap mechanical keyboard with original Cherry MX switches.
Based on the chosen model, the Cherry G80-3000 is featured with Cherry MX Black, Cherry MX Blue or Cherry MX Brown.

They keyboard only allows four keys pressed at once and is therefore not suitable for professional gaming. But it’s perfectly fine for fast writing and common gaming. But gamers are not really the target group for this keyboard anyway. The Cherry G80-3000 is for all those, who want a durable, cheap mechanical keyboard for everyday tasks and don’t need fancy extras. The keyboard has a 175 cm long USB cable, but can also be connected via PS/2 with the included adapter.

World Championship for the Fastest Typist

Intersteno organizes a world championship for typewriting every two years. The fastest typists from all over the world travel there to compete. Helena Zaviačičová, winner of multiple championships, has used the Cherry G80-3000 several times to win.
