As you probably would have guessed, the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT is a reworking of the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum. It was revealed in the beginning of 2020 at the CES in Las Vegas.
Upgrade of an already great Gaming Keyboard
The Corsair K95 RGB Platinum received great reviews and was called an amazing gaming keyboard from almost everyone. The new K95 RGB Platinum XT takes all the features of its highly praised predecessor and improves upon them. Both keyboards feature impressive RGB illumination, dedicated macro keys, convenient media controls, a USB passthrough, a gaming mode, 100% anti-ghosting and more.
What changed with the new XT model? The keyboard has now more robust PBT keycaps instead of standard ABS keycaps. Moreover, the wrist rest was improved with a cushioned, soft textured leatherette to increase its comfort. The K95 RGB Platinum XT features, like its predecessor, Cherry MX Brown or Cherry MX Speed switches, but it also offers the choice of Cherry MX Blue. Furthermore, the keyboard brings support for Elgato Stream Deck software. Important streaming commands can therefore easily be put on the macros keys, so that you can control all of your streaming environment directly via the keyboard. Apropos, some extra key caps for the macros keys are included in the package.
Is buying the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT worth it?
Corsair strongly promoted the K95 RGB Platinum XT with its support for Elgato Stream Deck software. It’s a nice feature, but also pretty irrelevant if you are not producing Videos. Is buying the keyboard worth it, even if you don’t use Elgato? This question can easily be answered with “Yes!”. The K95 RGB Platinum XT is the best version of the product series so far and it is one of the best gaming keyboards on the market. The differences between XT and its predecessor are not that big though, so if you already have a Corsair K95 RGB Platinum, you don’t necessarily need to upgrade your keyboard. Since the Platinum XT is not available in all regions, many users will stick to the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum anyway. That’s fine, it also is a fantastic keyboard.

Stream Deck integration controls can be set up and used easily helping with broadcasting or just generally everyday use, and the key caps are definitely a wonderful upgrade. If you are willing to put the money into a keyboard that will last and provide you with everything you need and more, then it's a solid buy. "

"Corsair’s excellent flagship mechanical gets better keycaps, a comfy wrist rest and support for Elgato’s Stream Deck software. The upgrades are welcome and the hardware is great, making the primary drawback the $200 / £210 MSRP."
