About five years after the market debut of the Logitech G915 Lightspeed, a successor was presented in September 2024. To be precise, there is not just one successor but several – the Logitech G915 X includes a series of three models:
- Logitech G915 X Lightspeed
- Logitech G915 X Lightspeed TKL
- Logitech G915 X
Wireless Logitech G915 X Lightspeed
Like its predecessor, the Logitech G915 X Lightspeed is a full-size mechanical keyboard with wireless technology. To connect via Lightspeed, the keyboard communicates with the included wireless receiver which is plugged into a USB port on the computer. Alternatively, the keyboard can be connected via Bluetooth or USB cable.
The new generation offers improved battery life. According to Logitech, the runtime is up to 800 hours with lighting deactivated and up to 36 hours with lighting activated at full brightness level.
New Low-Profile Switches
The keyboard is equipped with low-profile Logitech GL switches – buyers can choose between linear switches, tactile switches and switches with audible feedback. The switches have also received an update since the last generation and now have a cross-shaped POM shaft. Combined with new PBT key caps the G915 X provides overall a new typing experience.
Multimedia and Macros
The Logitech G915 is crammed full with features. The keyboard offers practical multimedia controls for playback and volume control. Furthermore, there are five additional macro keys, gaming features and individual per-key RGB backlighting.
Wired Logitech G915 X
If you like the keyboard but don’t need the wireless mode, you can use the Logitech G915 X (without Lightspeed in its name). This keyboard is practically identical to the Logitech G915 X Lightspeed, it just lacks its wireless capabilities. The Logitech G915 X is a bit cheaper than the G915 X Lightspeed.
Logitech G915 X Lightspeed TKL
The smallest member of the series is the Logitech G915 X Lightspeed TKL – this model has no numpad or macro keys. Otherwise, the keyboard offers the same features as its bigger brothers, and the expected battery life is even slightly better at 42 hours. Last but not least, it’s worth mentioning that both Lightspeed keyboards are available in multiple color options.
