Razer BlackWidow Chroma

The Razer BlackWidow is a very well known mechanical gaming keyboard. As early as 2010 Razer presented the first version of the BlackWidow. It was one of the first mechanical keyboards specifically designed for gaming. The manufacturer uses his own switches, so called “All New Razer Switches”. These switches are specifically designed for gaming and are available in two variations: The Razer Green Switch (“Clicky”) and the Razer Orange Switch (“Silent”). More information about the two switch types can be found on the website from the manufacturer.

Impressive Chroma Illumination

The BlackWidow Chroma is the first model of the series to support multicolored illumination. Every single key can be lit in one of 16.8 million colors and the software supports many spectacular effects. The following video gives a short impression of the keyboard’s possibilities.

BlackWidow Chroma Features

But the keyboard backlighting is not the only thing, that makes the BlackWidow Chroma a great gaming keyboard. The keyboard comes with 10 Key Rollover, that’s surely enough for every kind of game.
The game mode disables the windows key and dangerous shortcuts like Alt + Tab. This prevents unintentional closing or minimizing of the game.

With its fully programmable keys the BlackWidow Chroma is prepared for every situation. An Audio-in and Microphone-out, an USB Passthrough and 5 additional macro keys complete the package and make the BlackWidow Chroma a great all-purpose keyboard.

BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma

The Tournament Edition of the BlackWidow Chroma is the compact version of the keyboard. It has no numpad, no USB passthrough, no macro keys and no Audio-in or Microphone-out. But therefore, it is of course a lot more lightweight and smaller. And it is usually a bit cheaper than the full-size model. The BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma is available with Razer Green Switches or Razer Orange Switches, just as the full-size version.
