The Razer BlackWidow Lite is a mechanical keyboard for work and gaming. The keyboard is available since November 2018.
A BlackWidow for Office and Travel
Many manufacturers of mechanical keyboards focus strongly on gaming keyboards. It is therefore not that easy to find a good mechanical keyboard for office. In the past, the BlackWidow series also just targeted gamers. With the BlackWidow Lite though, this might change now a bit, as the keyboard comes with a simplistic design, perfectly suitable for office. Also, the font on the keycaps is straight-forward and doesn’t shout out “I’m a gaming keyboard” like many others do. The aluminum matte top plate makes the keyboard look good at your desk at home as well as at work.
Even though the BlackWidow Lite is a minimalistic mechanical keyboard, it still is absolutely ready for gaming. Thanks to 10-key rollover and 1000 Hz polling rate, the keyboard will reliable recognize all inputs, even during very fast-paced phases of your game. The keyboard features a white back illumination which is great for playing or working at night.
The Razer BlackWidow is a compact mechanical keyboard (“tenkeyless”) which makes it good to transport and therefore suitable as a keyboard for travelling. Also, the cable can be detached which makes packing the keyboard easier.
Silent Mechanical Keyboard
The BlackWidow Lite features Razer Orange switches. These are tactile switches without an audible feedback. If you want to further reduce the noise made by the keyboard, you can use the o-ring sound dampeners which are already included with the keyboard. Of course, you always can buy o-rings for any keyboard you want, but if you are looking for a silent keyboard, it is very convenient that Razer ships them right away with the BlackWidow Lite. A keycap puller is also included with the keyboard, so you can easily take of the keycaps and add or remove the o-rings any time you want.
